Key purpose of the Job
The Production Manager is accountable for overseeing end-to-end apparel manufacturing operations - from cutting to finishing within the plant. This role ensures that products meet customer specifications and are ready for timely shipment. The incumbent will lead Value Stream Management (VSM) functions to achieve budgeted Standard Allowed Hours (SAH) and On-Time Delivery (OTD), while driving continuous improvement, cost optimization, and compliance with Health & Safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies across cutting, production, and finishing to meet plant performance targets and customer expectations.
- Lead daily performance reviews to ensure adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Planning, Industrial Engineering, Technical, HR, Engineering) and external stakeholders (customers, vendors) to resolve operational challenges and support business goals.
- Drive process improvements and implement lean manufacturing practices (e.g., 5S, BCIP) to enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.
- Manage and develop the VSM team, focusing on performance tracking, training, motivation, and strict adherence to safety protocols.
