Key purpose of the Job

The Production Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end apparel manufacturing operations-from cutting to finishing-within the plant to ensure products meet customer specifications and are ready for shipment. The role involves planning, organizing, and leading VSM functions to achieve budgeted Standard Allowed Hours (SAH) and On-Time Delivery (OTD), while driving process improvements, cost optimization, and compliance with Health & Safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and execute manufacturing plans across cutting, production, and finishing to meet plant targets and customer specifications.
  • Lead daily performance reviews and ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Planning, IE, Technical, HR, Engineering) and external stakeholders (customers, vendors) to resolve issues and drive business objectives.
  • Implement process improvements and lean practices (e.g., 5S, BCIP) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Manage and develop the VSM team, ensuring performance tracking, training, motivation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Engineering or Clothing Technology. in Engineering in the stream of Textile and Clothing or National Diploma in Technology in the stream of Textile and Clothing or an equivalent qualification

Experience

8 to 10+ years of experience and should possess a minimum experience of 3 years in heading production for a large Plant
