Key purpose of the Job
The Assistant Manager – Merchandising (Procurement) is responsible for leading the Sourcing and Procurement teams for the assigned customer(s) or customer category. The role involves driving the achievement of raw material requirements while ensuring supply chain excellence through order optimization, cost management, inventory control, quality assurance, supplier development, and process excellence (SWORD).Additionally, the job holder is tasked with executing duties and responsibilities in alignment with the organization’s Health & Safety guidelines, instructions, and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for effective planning and deployment of Procurement & Sourcing strategies and implementation plans.
- Be responsible for reviewing and ensuring achievement of the sourcing and procurement objectives for the account (for example, RM development lead time, cost, quality.
- Oversee achievement of procurement objectives, including supply, quality, order optimization, inventory, profitability improvement and SC Excellence.
- Drive synergies with suppliers, customers and internal teams for driving achievement of Procurement & Sourcing objectives.
- Lead and manage the team for achievement of the functional objectives.
- Drive the team to meet supplier OTIF 100%, zero open hours in the plant and maintain budgeted procurement KPIs. Should be able to take the 100% ownership of this.
