Key purpose of the Job

The Merchandiser – Procurement is responsible for supporting the sourcing strategy of designated raw material categories while ensuring competitive pricing, supply continuity, and alignment with customer requirements. The role involves extensive data analysis, supplier engagement, and coordination with cross-functional teams to drive effective sourcing decisions and improve supply chain responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier inquiries, price negotiations, and quotation analysis for assigned raw material categories.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely confirmations and adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives through supplier negotiations and sourcing strategy improvements.
  • Work closely with planning, merchandising, and logistics teams to ensure smooth raw material flow and supply visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procurement guidelines, and Health & Safety requirements.

Education

Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, or a related analytical field.

Experience

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to work with large datasets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, data analysis) and familiarity with data visualization tools will be an added advantage.
Good negotiation and supplier communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple sourcing inquiries simultaneously.
Ability to work proactively and support data-driven sourcing decisions.
