Key purpose of the Job

The Merchandiser - Product Development is responsible for effectively leading the execution of product development for the assigned categories. This encompasses accurately forecasting customer orders, overseeing the sample development process, conducting order costing, negotiating with customers, and liaising with internal teams and customers to achieve objectives related to topline, profitability, on-time delivery (OTD), and customer return index (CRI).
 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for developing PD Merchandising objectives and action plans for the assigned categories.
  2. Drive the achievement of Sample Development On-Time Delivery (OTD) and profitability objectives in collaboration with internal SBU/Corporate teams and Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs).
  3. Manage relationships with customers/buying houses to achieve strategic PD deliverables, including outstanding product development and Customer Relationship Index (CRI).
  4. Lead and manage the team of Development Merchandisers for the assigned categories to achieve functional objectives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Designing or Clothing Technology or Business Administration or Marketing

Experience

1 – 2+ years experience in Merchandising
