Key purpose of the Job
The Assistant Manager - Product Technology is responsible for coordinating and providing technical support & follow-up with relevant stakeholders & supplier sources for the assigned RM & products development/ technology translation to ensure final garment development to meet the customer’s inspiration. This includes an understanding of customer requirements, product research new market trends/ consumer needs, evaluation & mitigation of the development risk, customer testing protocols, consumption & costing, and coordination for sample development with third-party supplier sources facilities as well as within the Group facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand customer requirements through research on competition, consumer needs, and trends, and brainstorm timely, quality product solutions.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify new opportunities, integrating innovations in raw materials, garment dyeing, embellishment, and construction for complete product solutions.
- Work with marketing, cross-functional teams, and supply chain to stay updated on customer insights and source reliable suppliers, optimizing profit and minimizing costs for commercially viable products.
- Identify risks and establish mitigation plans in product development while ensuring quality and testing standards on the agreed critical path.
- Collaborate with the design lead from brainstorming to concept finalization, managing product realization, consumption, and cost validation in bulk operations.
- Lead and manage the team, track development progress, monitor KPIs, and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and company values.
