Key purpose of the Job

The Senior Product Technologist is responsible for coordinating technical support and follow-ups with stakeholders and suppliers for raw material (RM) and product development to ensure garment creation aligns with customer inspiration. Key duties include understanding customer requirements, researching market trends, evaluating development risks, adhering to testing protocols, managing consumption and costing, and overseeing sample development with third-party and in-house facilities. The role also involves driving innovation in RM, garment dye, and embellishments in collaboration with suppliers, R&D institutes, and internal teams while ensuring cost optimization. Additionally, the position requires adherence to the Organization's Health & Safety guidelines..

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Understand customer requirements and conduct research based on customer and consumer needs, ensuring pre-sample development is done right the first time at the most appropriate level.
  2. Identify potential risks and discuss them with supervisors to implement necessary mitigation plans, particularly regarding consumption and cost validation processes throughout the product's lifecycle.
  3. Ensure that any technology translation or value-added subprocess follows reliable sources, striving to meet stakeholder requirements on time.
  4. Negotiate the best timeline for RM/product development or technology transformation, and diligently follow up. If any issues arise, escalate them to supervisors for advice and resolution.
  5. Maintain the development tracking document and KPI monitoring tool, ensuring records are kept up to date.
     

Education

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Textile/Clothing/Fabric Technology or any other relevant stream.

Experience

1 - 3+ years of relevant experience with team /process handling in textile technology & research both the front end & backend operation for product creation and execution including textile lab work
