Key purpose of the Job

An Assistant Manager - Product Development (Activewear) is responsible for effectively executing product development for assigned categories. This includes accurately forecasting customer orders, managing the sample development process, handling order costing and negotiations with customers and coordinating with internal teams and clients to achieve topline, profitability, on-time delivery (OTD) and customer retention index (CRI) objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Responsible for developing the Product Development merchandising objectives and action plans for the assigned categories
  2. Drive the achievement of sample development on-time delivery and profitability objectives in collaboration with internal SBU/Corporate teams and CFTs
  3. Manage relationships with customers and buying houses to achieve strategic product development deliverables, including exceptional product development and CRI
  4. Lead and manage a team of development merchandisers for the assigned categories, aiming to achieve functional objectives
  5. Oversee end-to-end costing and sample operations

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Designing or Clothing Technology or Business Administration or Marketing

Experience

6+ years of relevant experience in the merchandising function
Active product knowledge in bonding, seam sealing, etc and higher education in activewear will be an advantage
