Key purpose of the Job

The Merchandiser – Product Development is responsible for leading effective execution of Product Development for the assigned categories. The role includes accurate forecasting of customer orders, driving the sample development process, order costing/negotiations with customers, and liaising with internal teams/customers for achievement of the topline, profitability, On Time Delivery (OTD) and CRI objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Development of the Product Development Merchandising objectives and action plans for the assigned categories
2.    Driving achievement of the Sample Development OTD and profitability objectives in collaboration with the internal SBU/Corporate teams and CFTs
3.    Managing relationships with customers/buying houses for achievement of the strategic Product Development deliverables, including phenomenal product development, CRI, etc

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Designing or Clothing Technology or Business Administration or Marketing.

Experience

1 to 2+ years of relevant experience in the merchandising function
Good knowledge of fabrics, trims and garments with various finishes, as well as experience in costing
